Finding the Auspicious in the Average
The average—
common,
humdrum,
mediocre,
normal,
usual.
Then the avid author
takes a closer look—
In each nugget of
average
discovery is made—
awe-inspiring
axiom.
The auspicious—
The encouraging,
favourable,
golden,
good,
happy
and hopeful.
Thus ascertained,
One assumes
a different approach,
adapts to
a new acceptance
and gives assent to
new actuality.
An amazing anecdote is born.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful poem and photography, dear Ruth. Thank you for adding your awesome post to our ABC's series.
ReplyDeleteYes, to write is to examine life closely.
Blessings.
A wonderful poem, Ruth! It reminds me of a quote by Marcel Proust: "The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes." I discovered that this is what we had to do during Covid. And as you wrote, paying closer attention to the average, humdrum, etc, will give us "new eyes".
ReplyDelete"awe inspiring axiom". Love it!
