This month’s prompt reminds me of the phrase “When the student is ready, the teacher appears.” How apt when September is back to school month!
The Schoolroom of Life
As I sit at my desk in God’s classroomIt feels like the first day againI’m nervous and excitedAbout what I might learn this yearThe Teacher is good, all the timeHe knows the gaps in my educationWhat methods work bestI prepare myself for what He has in storeThe Teacher holds the futureHe knows just what I needMy hands are open, ready to receiveFrom the Author and perfecter of my faithI’ll avail my student's heart and mindTo the One who made meThe One who knows all about meBehold, He is doing a new thingBecause His love never failsAnd His ways are higher than mineI will trust Jehovah-jirehAs I sit at my desk in God’s classroom

Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susan, for your lovely back-to-school analogy of God as our teacher and we are the students in his large classroom. To me, your post begs the question, What kind of student am I? Am I listening carefully? Paying attention? Absorbing the lessons? Or am I distracted and distracting to my fellow classmates. Good thoughts here, Susan.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing *your* thoughts, Sharon. Those are excellent take-aways :)
DeleteLOVE this! Wonderful analogy. I like Sharon's response, too. Got me thinking. Oh dear - more learning required! :)
ReplyDeleteAlways, Glynis :) Thanks for chiming in.
DeleteOh, I like this very much! Thanks, Susan! I'm grateful He knows the gaps in my education and can fit us beautifully even so for what we are called.
