The author Catherine Marshall wrote words of relinquishment that I've never forgotten: "The act of placing what we cherish most in His hands is to Him the sweet music of the essence of faith." That's a lesson so many Christians don't understand. I especially warn people against the preachers of the prosperity gospel. As we read in Hebrews chapter 11, many faithful people suffered and were ill treated because they didn't go along with the world. I was one of those unfortunate believers who ended up in a faith cult. For more than 15 years, I suffered verbal abuse from leaders who chastised me for lacking faith to be healed, lusting for sight, having hidden sin, and ancestral sin blocking my healing. Now I know about God's sovereign care for us and I accept whatever he sends my way.Bruce Atchison - authorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16956436260379779297noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37258556.post-55398946734503403342021-09-24T03:08:50.881-07:002021-09-24T03:08:50.881-07:00What a beautiful testimony, Valerie.
